mutty day care

Muddy Mutts Doggy Day Care provides calm, structured care in a home-based setting, with a focus on routine, enrichment, and good manners rather than high-arousal, chaotic play. Each day follows a predictable routine to help dogs feel settled and relaxed. The day begins with a structured morning walk, tailored to the dog’s ability and needs. Walks focus on controlled movement, engagement, and appropriate behaviour rather than distance alone. After the walk, dogs are checked and cleaned, wash-downs are provided when required.
Basic care services such as baths, ear cleaning and nail clipping can also be added, subject to suitability and the dog’s comfort.
The afternoon is centred around supervised playtime and enrichment. Play is managed carefully to encourage calm interaction, appropriate social behaviour, and rest periods. Dogs are not expected to play constantly; downtime is built into the day to support emotional regulation and welfare.Dogs are accepted following an Meet & Greet to ensure suitability for a small-group, structured environment. Group sizes are kept deliberately low to allow individual attention and safe management. This service is ideal for owners who want their dog to return home exercised, clean, settled, and in a better condition than when they arrived.

Training

We work with a small number of dogs at any one time to maintain high standards, consistency, and welfare. For this reason, training places are limited and offered by assessment to ensure the right fit for both dog and owner.

Some training programmes begin with a behavioural assessment. This ensures suitability, sets realistic goals, and allows me to decide whether I’m the right trainer for your dog.I prioritise owners who are committed to follow-through, consistency, and long-term progress.

A focused, in-person training session designed to build strong foundations in obedience, lead skills, recall, and everyday manners. Sessions are practical and structured, with clear guidance and homework so progress continues between visits.Suitable for owners who are committed to practising between sessions.

Your dog stays with us for the day and receives structured handling, routine, and focused training alongside exercise, rest, and enrichment. This option suits dogs that benefit from consistency, repetition, and calm leadership.Places are limited and offered only after a assessment.

An intensive four-day programme where your dog stays with us and receives continuous structure, manners reinforcement, and focused training. Designed to establish strong foundations and improve responsiveness before transitioning skills back to the owner.Available to a limited number of dogs and subject to assessment.

A structured week of boarding and training designed for dogs requiring routine, consistency, and foundational obedience work. This programme is not suitable for every dog and is offered by assessment only.Details discussed following an initial assessment.

If you’re travelling, these programmes allow your dog to receive structured care and training rather than standard boarding.Travelling for 3–5 days → Bootcamp is a structured alternative to kennelsTravelling for 7–14 days → Immersion provides consistency and training foundationsLonger trips → Multiple Immersion programmes can be booked consecutively (subject to availability and assessment)Training builds foundations, not guarantees. Progress depends on consistency, the dog, and owner follow-through.Important NoteI don’t take on every enquiry. My approach is calm, structured, and training-led, and works best with owners who are willing to be involved in the process. If that sounds like the right fit, I’d be happy to discuss next steps.
